Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland. Now lives and maintains a studio in Chico, in Northern California. Married to an artist painter muralist and together they have two son and a dog.
education - Self-taught in fiber and textile techniques. Apprenticeship in metalsmithing in 1974-76. Experimented with Arts & Crafts in Switzerland as a junior member of the Geneva Arts Guild.
publications and awards - Marionfs work has been published in national magazines, the American Craft Magazine, Ornaments, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Fiberarts, Rock & Gems and she has won many awards.
lectures/workshops - Guest Speaker at Handweavers Guilds, Arts Councils & Bead Societies. Workshops on Fiber Jewelry Techniques and Guest Teacher at Bead Designer International, the Bead Society of New England, the Hawaii Stitchery and Fibre Arts Guild, the Southern California Handweavers Guild, the San Francisco Academy of Art, the Spokane Bead Society, the Palos Verdes Embroidery Guild.
exhibitions - Since 1978 has shown at various other craft events: American Craft Council Shows, Contemporary Craft Market in Santa Monica & San Francisco, Kings Mountain Art Fair, Sausalito Art Festival, Convergence, Palo Alto Art Festival, Menlo Park Connoisseur Marketplace, Los Altos Art & Wine Festival, Union Street Art Fair, Celebrate Craftswomen, KPFA Craft Fair. Gallery shows during the 80fs and 90fs. Jewelry purchased by galleries and collectors throughout the U.S. and Europe. |
